GatorLUG Codeslinger Programming Contest - Fall 2011

This week I participated in a programming contest hosted by the local Linux User Group, the GatorLUG.



The contest was sponsored by a local Gainesville company, Main Street Softworks, who make the Monetra payment processing software.

Contestants received these really nice t-shirts:



I chose to work in Perl. I didn't manage to solve the problem myself before the winners were declared.

I thought the programming problem was a good one... multiple ways to solve the problem but some of them fail miserably on the time performance requirement. Here is a link to the contest problem and test data:
